Pack Smart, don't I mean pack light?

For me, I am known within my group of friends to be the one that packs the least whether it's a quick day trip or a weekend trip or even a 2 week trip.

A few tips I follow:

  • Don't pack something I can purchase at wherever I'm going (i.e. toiletries)

  • When it comes to clothing, I roll up/fold my clothes (just like Marie Kondo)

  • Check the weather to anticipate how much clothes I really need

  • Pack 1 pair of comfy walking shoes (could be sneakers, could be sandals)

  • If I don't use it on a daily basis, I don't need to pack it

  • Less is More 👌

What type of luggage do I use? I tend to use a duffle [trips ranging from 1-4 days], similar to the duffles people bring to the gym (maybe even smaller) and a carry on luggage [trips ranging from 5 - 10] days

Thoughts on duffle? In my duffle, my last trip to Vegas I was able to fit my top-5 items [listed below] 3 night outfits (dresses), 3 day outfits (rompers), 1 set of pjs, my essential toiletries (hairbrush, toothbrush/paste, facial wipes), 1 pair of heels, 1 pair of flats, and that's pretty much it.

Thoughts on carry-on luggage? If you haven't seen in my previous post, I have a pink Samsonite carry on luggage. Honestly, I can fit SO MUCH in that "little" luggage.

Am I not afraid of forgetting something? I know what my crucial items are and sometimes I'll downside on some of my items. For example, instead of bringing my laptop, i'll bring my i-pad with a keyboard, so it's smaller in size and lighter in weight.

What are 5 things I never forget to pack?

  1. Cardholder ($$$)

  2. Sandals (shoe sizes can be tricky, best to bring my go-to pair)

  3. Undergarments (no questions asked)

  4. Baby Wipes (if it works for a baby, it works for anyone)

  5. Cell Phone (communication is key)

Everything else that I didn't list can most likely be purchased, but my main items that I never forget to pack are those.

Overall, no need to pack light or pack small, packing smart is a combo of both with a twist ✌
